His Lasers Go All Over The Place - Week of 6/24/20

The Fellowship is pleased to present our discussion of Giant-Size X-Men #1. This was the re-introduction of the title with new heroes, an early exercise in diversity in comics. We talk about the history of the title, some different character stories, the issue's impact on the X-Men and comics in general, and a bunch of stuff in between. Plus our usual tangents galore and our comics picks of the week.

Come hang out with us! We usually have monthly meetups on 2nd Saturdays in Garland, TX; details on Facebook & Twitter & the Events tab on our website
We're super excited to announce our partnership with ComicBooks For Kids. Details on the website (and you should be listening to hear more, too 🙂)

What we're up to this week:
The DC/Diamond breakup, speculating about retail comics, the music industry parallel?, HBOMax and the Looney Tunes controversy, new Perry Mason series coming soon, how we watch TV these days, Invasion of the Star Creatures (1962), music documentaries from the Classic Albums series (Pet Sounds and Apostrophe/Overnite Sensation), the podcast interview with Peter Cetera from last week (and a little tangent on Chicago again), Doomed: The Untold Story of the Fantastic Four, Chris Claremont's X-Men documentary

Check out our sponsor page! Head to the website and click on the banners for Things From Another World! (Click through the TFAW banner on our site and we get a cut. Thank you!)

We added our picks to the website as their own page! It's an easy reference for you to find some cool stuff to read (especially in social distancing mode). So go check it out, and hit the site as you need or want 🙂

Hey, let's do a Q&A episode! Shoot us your questions and we'll answer them on an episode in the near future 🙂
